Anyone wondering what ACTUALLY happened at the recent "disturbances" should go here ;

Re: 08/08/11 @ St. Anne's, Manchester, England (Mark solo)

my legs are still aching for sitting in the 'pit' (!) for all but the first two songs. At least the previous Manchester church show at St Phillips let folks up into the balcony. I guess its unsafe or never used or something. Yes, lucky the riots were the following night, my friend parked his car where it was all happening so anything could have happened to it, or us.

Great version of River, also some of the AFP songs seemed to click for me more than on record, Half Moon Bay was great. Heron Blue was superb too and i have never enjoyed hearing it so much. Like The River was a highlight too. Would have liked a couple more RHP songs but then he chooses the set, not me. It was worth it all just for Mistress though, achingly beautiful.

Just wish it had been a little louder and the sound a little clearer but seeing Mark up close like that and beholding his amazing guitar playing was special.

no one even comments on half of these shows, the forum is hard enough to plough through as is.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're wanting, but the section that you're reading right now is a separate subforum called Gig Reviews/Setlist discussion.

As for the forum being hard enough to plough through - all you have to do is click "New" in the top right under corner and it will show you all the new posts.

Secondly, it's obvious to everyone here that the forum has actually dwindled in quality, constant spamming and no personal message section.

I have anti-spam measures setup to keep the auto-bot spammers out. Any spam you see on the forum is somebody manually signing up, getting an email from the forum to a proper email address and signing up like any regular user and then posting their spam. There's nothing I can really do about that, unfortunately.

But you (and anyone else) can help out by clicking the Report button on their posts so I'm alerted.

As for a PM system, I'll put it to a vote later to see if people would like a PM system back. Should there be demand, I'll look into a solution. Last time I checked there wasn't a decent solution as it's not built into the core of this software.

My friend, who is well-versed in the world of films, maintains that he saw the actress Chloe Sevigny at the MK gig at St Ann's Church in Manchester.

Any corroboration?

Hmmm. Well, I did see The Brown Bunny so I should of spotted her if she was there.

Then again, I might not have recognised her with her mouth shut and standing up.

Haha that film certainly didn't help her much. Trees Lounge by Steve Buscemi was brilliant though.

I can confirm that Chloe Sevigny was at this gig. She was queuing near us, and sat next to us for a short time before moving closer to the stage.

Also Mark talks about seeing her at the gig in the song 'UK Blues 2' -- "... That one from those early Harmony films"
