April artwork

Just had a questiong regarding the artwork of the new sun kil moon album.
Is there meant to be any insert?  The Australian version looks like it has a place that should have had an insert so it made me start wondering.
Thanks for any answers.

Re: April artwork

no i dont think there is meant to be an insert. it would have been nice though!

Aprils 'artwork' is bland. the packaging has been the same for the GOTGH reissue, little drummer boy and now this.

Re: April artwork

I personally don't blame Mark for having less than extravagant packaging.

can almost hear rollercoasters see sailboats in the sea
hear noise and screaming
weaving in and out of
happy music box sounds

Re: April artwork

i think the artwork fits April perfectly, i dont think it could have been exacted any better!

ive always hated jewl cases, any type of all-plastic casing in general...

i love the cardboard bit, whether its a foldout or just a sleeve.
i feel it adds so much to the artwork not having that dreadful glossy glare from plastic casings.

plus, cardboard seems to be more durable.

Re: April artwork

sangeronimo, Nights is SO worth the wait! and definitely worth dozens of lyric-sheetless Koz albums. in this case, id much rather have a book like Nights, than a lyric sheet with every release...

i also agree with you concerning how the artwork accompanies the albums; it really is so perfect!

Re: April artwork

i dunno... i just cant remember the last jewl casing i got that wasnt/or didnt get some kind of crack in it.

heh, im also not a big fan of that sticker tape they put over the top of the jewl casing, holding the two sides together... i have a terrible time getting that stuff off without leaving any sticky leftovers...

but then again, maybe im just an idiot when it comes to opening jewl cases?!

Re: April artwork

The best way to take that off is to undo the bottom of the jewel case and then it's easy to take off the sticker on the top without leaving sticky residue.

Re: April artwork

What I mean is unhinge the bottom of the cover of the jewel case, to clarify.

Re: April artwork

of course the thing with jewel cases is if they crack they can be replaced :-)

i think my hatred of digipaks stems from years back when my mate borrowed one from me and returned it with a tear across it! i'm very picky when it comes to the condition of my discs, ha

Re: April artwork

i hear ya.
i like mine to stay in decent conditions too...

a few years ago, my entire cd collection was stolen, and even though i had everything backed up on my computer (thank God!) i still wanted to have most of that stolen material in hard copies, so i went back and bought most of that freakin collection. and it gets damn expensive trackin down every single Pearl Jam release, RHP/SKM/Koz solo, etc.

so now i have at least two casings for every Koz release!
heh, it'll just make my craze for collecting Mark's music look even nuttier...
