Moorestown sounds great, but it's a pity that the bonus disc doesn't have other tracks instead of alternate versions of album tracks...or am I just being too picky. Maybe he could have knocked up a studio version of "Admiral Fell Promises" for example. Nice soft-focus 4ad-esque artwork too.

Just be happy it's not a Fall Out Boy acoustic cover album. :)

you know what i think your right?! no piano. I have this surround sound effect on my speakers, it really sounds like a piano on my system, but now i took of the effect and i do agree its guitar, but a very smooth guitar, but sometimes i still think its piano.

i always thought i could distinguish sounds well, working in the studio is a royal pain in the ass if your recording me, i hear every little flaw, which can be annoying, i do like the snare drum alot, its very dead but still with a crisp clean sound, the brushes he's using are really high end, I can only hear "one" vocal track which is different, but kinda more like Old Ramon, with the vox up front and single tracked, but with reverb added.

you can hear the strings so well they soar over the music and then come back down and dwell with the other sounds so well, his vocal melody is kinda boring though it kinda goes over and over a bit too much, bit its catchy, the lyrics seem really good though.

i'm really impressed. chris

I like this song alot! Great to hear a band backing him again! Sounds promising for what's to come! I also remember liking that Bilbao-song alot when he played it live! And yeah it's great it's not another covers record

Nearly every Kozelek song has a very special moment for me... I can´t say why...
This time it´s the way he sings "Her eyes sad as a raven"...
I´m really touched by it...

It sounds great ... when the strings kick in, it's just breathtaking. And the vocal production, my God ! I'm pretty sure Chris, whose love for Old Ramon is well known, will agree with me that this is the voice we love ... upfront, bare and so beautiful.

Really looking forward to the release.

speaking of production quality, i was just listening to River on the way home tonight, and remembered just how much i LOVE the production on Old Ramon, but especially on that track! the distortion tones they manage to achieve, the layers and layers of warm guitar, and smooth clean vocal tracks (even if they do sound doubled up towards the end of the song)...

if April contains that kind of production with strings included, i cant imagine how amazing the new SKM album will sound production wise?!

i cant wait!

It was probably Billy Anderson, so if he didn't work on the new album, it will more than likely sound different.
